Over six Tuesday evenings, 5:30–7:00 PM, you'll learn the foundations of the Italian longsword — the cut, the guards, the thrust, footwork and measure, timing, and your first real defenses — finishing by crossing swords in controlled free fencing. No experience needed, and no gear to buy: we provide practice swords.
This is a study group, not a certified school. We follow the Academie Duello curriculum — a modern teaching method grounded in the 14th-century Italian tradition. You'll build sound, historically-informed fundamentals. (We're not drilling a specific historical manuscript's plays — that deeper study may come later.)
What's included:
Six 1.5-hour sessions, Tuesdays starting September 1
All practice weapons provided
Structured curriculum with optional pre-class videos to watch on your own time
Small group, individual attention
Founding-cohort rate: $135, discounted to $109. We're still building out our loaner gear, so it wouldn't be fair to charge full price yet — this rate reflects that. As our equipment grows, so will the price. Get in early!
When: Six Tuesdays — September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, & October 6 | 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Where: Moore Park, lakeside pavilion, Klamath Falls
Bring: Water and clothes you can move in. Got a mask or gorget? Bring it. Otherwise, just yourself.
Who can join: Adults of any experience level. Ages 16+ welcome with guardian consent.
We train rain or shine under the covered pavilion — only thunder and lightning cancels a session. If the pavilion is booked, we move across the street to the New Moore Park playground parking lot.
New to all this? Come to a free "Sword Sampler" night first to try it before you commit.
